Reconditioned military vehicles

The Omat company, member of the “Groupement des industries françaises de defense et de sécurité terre et aéroterrestre” (Gicat), based in Ormeaux, is a company specializing in tsecond hand military equipment of all types (wheeled or tracked armored vehicles, engineering, forklift, construction machinery, floating bridges, etc.). Vehicles over thirty years old, very often with low mileage, are reformed.
Recently, the company reconditioned around sixty armored vehicles for Saudi Arabia, but also two armored prototypes for the French national gendarmerie. For Stéphane Mathiaud, CEO, the reason is simple: “After forty years, the army can no longer find the spare parts that are essential for repairs. » In total, a dozen specialized technicians work in the reconditioning and recovery of second hand vehicles from French army fleets to deliver quality products to different countries around the world.
During a visit, Patrick Bourdy, departmental councilor, and Laurent Thieux first deputy of the city, were impressed by this chain of reconditioned vehicles which will meet, for the most part, the different needs of difficult transport on African roads.
